1.Thyagaraja Swamy Temple

2.Vaduvur Bird Sanctuary

          Vaduvur Bird Sanctuary is situated at a distance of 30 km from Thiruvarur on Vaduvur Lake. More than 40 species of water birds like white ibis, painted storks, gray pelicans, pintails, cormorants, teals, herons, spoonbills, darters, coots, open-billed storks, pheasant-vaults come here. More bird species arrive in November. Tourists are more interested to see it. Overnight arrangements have also been made. This sanctuary was created in 1999.

3.Udayamarthandapuram Birds Sactuary

          Udayamarthandapuram Bird Sanctuary is a protected area located in the Tiruvarur district. This Bird Sanctuary is spread over an area of about 0.45 sq.km. During the months of February and March, purple-moored and openbill storks can be seen here. Birds start coming to the sanctuary from September onwards. The bird population is at its peak during November-December and up to 10000 birds gather during the peak season. Wildlife watching: Best time to visit the sanctuary is during November.

4.Muthupettai Mangrove Forest

         The marshy land in Muthupet is the main tourist attraction of this region. Situated in a vast area of 120 sq km, this scenic spot is always green with evergreen forest trees. It is a wonderful sight for tourists to see the vast expanse of backwaters and the mangrove forests spread throughout the region. Along with the deep rooted mangrove trees, other types of trees like thandal, thillai, narikanthal and neermulli also grow and add to the beauty of the lagoon. There are seventy-three colorful varieties of fish in this lagoon. Tourists can reach the Thalaimunai Mangrove Forest by motorboat. It is one hour away from Jambavanodai point near Muthupettai.

         A 162-meter-long wooden path has been built for the convenience of tourists enjoying the mangrove forest. A large number of birds from all over the world migrate here during the monsoon season in November-January. Eighty different species of migratory birds travel long distances to congregate here. Birds come from Siberia, Russia, Iran, and Europe. Notable species of birds among them are herons, herons, flamingos, painted storks, pelicans, teals and terns. The migration of these birds is an extraordinary sight that adds to the beauty of this district.

5.Kuthanur

         21 KM from Tiruvarur. Kuthanur is located on the Tiruvarur-Mayiladuthurai road in the distance. Kuthanur, famous for the auspicious Maha Saraswati Amman Temple, is close to the town of Poontotam. It is the only temple in Tamil Nadu dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of education. It is Kavichakravartin Gambar and Ottakuthar who were blessed by the Goddess here. Here devotees from all over India participate in the Navratri festival.

6.Enkan

         1 km north of Mukundanur on Tiruvarur-Thanjavur road. Even further, on the Tiruvarur-Kumbakonam road, 3 km south of Kappanamangalam. At a distance, there is the Enkan Arulmiku Subramanya Swamy Temple. During the reign of Rajarasa Chola I, he gave alms for daily worship and festivals. Arunagirinath has sung the praises of Enkan Murugan in his Tirupukaz. The entire weight of the idol of Lord Arumuga is supported by one leg of the seated peacock. One such idol is worth seeing. 7.Valangaiman

         Valangaiman, Varadarajanpet Maha Mariamman Temple is 9 km from Kumbakonam on Mannargudi Road. It is situated far away. The deity here is known as Badaikwadi Mariamman. The festivals are held in the Tamil months of Avani (August–September) and Panguni.
